Deborah Bailey

As a writer, life coach and recovering CPA, Deborah Bailey was once ashamed about being born in Cabbagetown, a factory neighborhood of Atlanta predominantly occupied by lower income families whose wage earners worked for the Fulton Bag and Cotton Mills, to a teenage mother and the milkman boyfriend who left before she was born. She was raised by her Mama, a bi-polar fun-loving alcoholic with anger issues and jungle fever but a big heart. They lived with her Southern Baptist preacher grandfather Papa, a drunken, violent, KKK loving incestuous abuser and her holy-roller grandmother, Nanny. Other white trash family members and several questionable stepfathers, including one who shot himself in front of her round out the cast of characters from her early childhood from which she so desperately tries to escape. Five husbands, a lesbian daughter, a meteoric rise to business and social prominence followed by bankruptcy and forty thousand dollars in therapy later, Deborah finally finds herself. These are her stories. Check out my website at www.thepeachtart.com
