For god sake look at her picture on http://yabatmen.com/img/dora-grows-up1.jpg
She is not sexy AT ALL, she is just a plain old regular preteen! And her clothing fit my schools dress code.

Ok its NOT a mini skirt I saw an actual full color picture of this on The View months ago and what they are not showing you here is that dora is in fact wearing a long shirt or babydoll dress if you will, with leggings underneath, ya know the kind girls wear that come right below the knee underneath long shirts, babydoll dresses and skirts (my own daughters wear things like this all the time as did i when I was younger). The shirt is orange and pink and the leggings are purple, they kinda kept with doras clothing color scheme of orange and purple. So this silhouette is indeed very misleading so no wonder parents are concerned, but I assure you they have not turned dora into a go-go girl. Both my own daughters, 7 and 2, love dora and I think the idea I saw for the new dora is in fact a very cute, girly twist to the dora we know and love and I think it's a great idea for dora to grow up just like the children that are watching her are growing up.

As long as Mattel doesn't model Dora to their version of the unrealistic woman, Barbie I think it's fine. Girls' bodies are changing and they need to accept their new figures. However, the Dora in the picture looks more like a grown woman rather than a "tween". The skirt's a little short too.

Dora is for preschoolers. There is nothing wrong with growing her up. However, there is a possibility that corporations like Mattel, may try to sex her up primarily for financial reasons than anything else. Are we really out of ideas to serve the tween market? or Is Mattel trying to leverage Dora followers into their new set of products? It may be a great marketing idea for recession.

We should leave the preschool Dora alone http://www.mommyniri.com/2009/03/leave-our-dora-alone/ .
